Answer by Val
The answer is (b.) the Industrial Revolution. Before that, carbon dioxide levels stayed relatively constant since the last Ice Age. The industrial revolution brought the first burning of coal, later following by petroleum and natural gas. These fossil fuels released tremendous amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, whose concentration has increased exponentially since the Industrial Revolution.
