Question by R J: What would you consider the beginning events leading up to humanity?

Upon interest, I'm on a question to make a project regarding humanity on Earth, that is specifically homo-sapiens.

Where do you recommend I start? From the primitive origins of homo-erectus dating back to the Middle East, till 10,000 BC, the Neolithic Age, what are some key points, events, or anything that you think I might have misseD?

In other words, I need help organizing my project regarding homo-sapiens. Can anyone give me some key dates/times/events for specific things?

Thank you!

The beginning events leading up to humanity are unknown because they were in the prehistoric era, before the invention of writing. Sure we found some tools, agricultural artifact, cultural items, old bones, ritual artifacts etc with carbon dating but we don't know the exact events because of a lack of writings.

Some say humanity arises with social consciousness or self-consciousness but it is a mystery of how it actually happened. It must had been very slow and gradual, like biological evolution of any living species.

There is theories of how it happened but it would never be proved. You can look at Terrence McKenna theory of the stoned ape if you want an interesting one.

I suppose any other information could be found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homo_sapiens
