Is the book Memoirs of a Geisha worth reading? Is it very different from the movie?

I've already watched the movie for Memoirs of a Geisha and it was good. Later, I want to read the book. I heard the book was really good(according to thousands of ratings for the book on amazon.com). Does it have the similar/same plot as the movie? Thanks for the answers!

The book was amazing. Like all book based movies in general its the same but less detail. The book is much better.
